Hamilton transfer Station
The refuse transfer station on Lincoln Street in Hamilton was built to manage the majority of the city’s general solid waste from both the Residential and Commercial sectors.
There are a number of specific recycling drop off point for different materials including all type of recyclables collected via the Hamilton City Council kerbside recycling collection along with increased diversion opportunities for construction materials, used oil, LPG cylinders, scrap metals and other used household items that are suitable for reuse.
The site has a popular reuse shop operated by Essentialrecycling, under contract to Waste Management, where goods recovered from the general waste stream are sorted and sold for beneficial reuse to the public.
